  Having Vinny become my personal trainer is one of the best decisions I've made in my adult life. I've been interested in finding a personal trainer for a long time. Every person I've worked with in a gym who was called a personal trainer was not, in my mind, what I thought one should be. They would ask me what areas I wanted to work, show me how to use the machines, and that was my "training" session. Vinny is with you every minute of the session and tells you exactly how to position yourself, and motivates me to keep going when I really don't want to. He has modified exercises to compensate for my weaknesses until I'm able to build up more strength. An import from NYC, Vinny is the Capital District's best kept secret and ranks up there with a celebrity trainer.

  Vinny has been my trainer since May 2008.

Over the last two years, being a stay at home mom, I put on almost 24 pounds, it seemed to sneak up on me as I was putting all my time and energy into my family and our 'comfortable' lifestyle.

Since I had never needed to lose weight before I was extremely discouraged – I felt like I would never lose the weight and that I would gain more worrying about it! I attempted to work out on my own but was not disciplined enough to stick with a plan. This is when I began my quest for a qualified personal trainer and, after a long search, thankfully, found Vinny. Vinny understood what I desired and helped me set realistic fitness and weight loss goals. I needed the accountability to make myself workout, and he provided the nutritional guidance, motivation and encouragement to make me work harder than I would on my own. He taught me to stay focused and be patient, taught me how to properly lose body fat (Thank you!) and helped me achieve a new level of cardio endurance – I can actually run over 2 miles without stopping now! My energy is back, I have more confidence and lean muscle than I've ever had and am now leading a healthy and happy new lifestyle for myself and my family!

Vinny has been wonderful to work with, he truly cares about his clients' health and well being– he changes up the workouts – keeping them new and challenging, occasionally throwing in kick boxing and self-defense techniques too!   Hello, Vinny!

I really appreciate the difference it made for me to have you as my trainer. You didn't just have me come in and work out (which was challenging on so many levels), but you also showed me how important it is to consider my whole being.

You showed me how to think about not only what to eat, but when to eat it. And what a difference it made in my overall sense of health and fitness. You believed in what my body was capable of doing, even when I was sure it couldn't possibly meet your goals.

What I didn't see at the time was that my body was always capable - I just needed the push to see it too.

  I have had the pleasure of working with Vinny on several occasions and I could not have asked for a more committed and enthusiastic trainer. I have seen many "certified trainers" train their clients and I can confidently say that I have never met anyone as educated or as experienced in this field as Vinny is. During the session Vinny does not just tell you what to do and then send you on your way, he explains exactly what you are working and why you are doing it, something that many trainers cannot say. But Vinny's commitment does not end in the gym. From my experiences, Vinny always keeps in touch with his clients and helps them out, even when he is not on the clock; he even helped me with a school project, taking time out of his own schedule, which truly shows what outstanding character this guy really has.

At 16 years old, I am glad that I met Vinny when I did because he has taught me a lot, not only about training, but about life. He has given me the support and motivation to go after my goals, something that an athlete of any caliber, or anyone looking to change their body and mind, could use. If you are serious about making a change in your life, you definitely came to the right place.   Vinny is the best. He is able to inspire, educate and push simultaneously…. his training sessions incorporate strength and cardio sessions as well as education on the importance of proper form, nutrition and more. He is supportive and caring throughout the entire process, and I’d recommend him to anyone looking to get back into shape or to amp up their existing exercise program with one-on-one training.

  I've been working with Vinnie for a year and a half now; initially, to get back in shape after a sports injury. When I was able to resume running a few months later, his sessions proved to be ideal for the strength training and stretching needed for my running goals. How fortunate to have found him.. I quickly realized he is the best!

My return to running has exceeded expectations in part thanks to Vinnie’s expertise (I'm currently training for the Boston Marathon). Plus, I have never felt stronger or healthier. Letter from Steve Regarding His Boston Marathon Run

Vinnie, thanks for the great support and training.

Now that I'm back in my hotel room, it allows me to give an update on how it went today.

The 2008 Boston Marathon was an awesome experience. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The hospitality in Boston was world class. Since arriving in Boston on Saturday, everyone was congratulating me for qualifying. The race had such impressive organization for the 25,000 runners.

The hills were much tougher than I anticipated. There were more hills than the Newton hills. They were throughout the course.

 
 
     
 

The down hills were the hardest on the legs and they took their toll late in the race. A hamstring cramp at mile 21 on a steep downhill almost did me in but it subsided. By mile 23, I was done. The last three miles were really, really, r-e-a-l-l-y tough. But guts and determination got me to the finish line. I trained for hills but apparently not enough for the down hills. I'm proud to have continued running through all of the Newton hills; something many runners could not do.

Unfortunately, at the starting line, my sports watch (GPS device) could not find a satellite connection so I could not track my progress. This was a contingency I had not even remotely anticipated, so instead of using my carefully planned pacing schedule, a very crucial part of the preparations. I was running blind until mile 3 when it started working. This is maybe a reason why the first 8 miles were run faster than advisable causing me to hit the wall at mile 23.

Now that the race is over, my body is recovering but the quads and toes will be much sorer tomorrow and the next day than they are today, which is hard to imagine.

Checking the finishing times of all the people I knew running, their finish time was slower than their qualifying times at prior marathons by much wider margins than mine. Now I know why. The course is tough! One to be respected and revered. So I must have done really well.

The course was lined from start to finish with cheering spectators. My family was there to cheer me on including my mother and two sisters from Pennsylvania. My son came out from New York City and I saw him at mile 23 with his friends. Donna and I went to dinner with family after the race to celebrate.

  Vinny has been an extremely motivating force in my life. I did not begin formally working out or training until after the birth of my second child. I had always been intimidated by the gym scene and by trainers. Vinny alleviated both of these fears very quickly by instilling in me a sense of self-confidence that I could absolutely meet my goals. He helped me realize the proper ways to eat and how frequently to increase my energy and metabolism. My body fat has decreased while my lean muscle mass has increased.

I am back to my pre-baby weight but I am in much better shape now. I actually look forward to my training sessions with Vinny. I did not feel this way about exercise in the past. Vinny always keeps me interested by changing the routine, incorporating kick boxing, and teaching me valuable self defense moves. He constantly challenges me and has made me realize that I am capable of anything. This confidence has transferred over to many facets of my life.

  Vinny worked with me this winter to teach me mixed martial arts. Within just a few weeks, I learned how to effectively defend myself, and after learning the basics my skill increased noticably during each session. I learned a lot during my training and I'd suggest to anyone that they try it out. Vinny is a great teacher and a fun guy to train with.

  I've been working out with Vinny for about a year now. It had been a while since I'd stayed with an exercise program. Vinny is great to work with.   When I met Vinny I was in the right place at the right time. My short term goal was to tone up and learn more of "what to do", but with Vinny's guidance my goal is now for long term health and fitness. I was already aware of the mind, body, spirit connection but Vinny really drove it home. Teaching me how and when to work out, using the proper form and most of all keeping in mind nutrition, which I now know is key.

Vinny is very in tune with what a person needs and how far to push or not push. I liked that. My short term goal has now turned into an overall healthier lifestyle and I know Vinny can do it for you too.
